Here we are in the new year! Hope your quilty journey is going smoothly!
I started a new group on Facebook so I could post my tutorials and get people involved. It is called Rhonda's Shortcuts if you'd like to join us. I am posting projects you can do and sharing lots of tips and ideas I hope will help other quilters.

Lots of colds and flu going around in our area. Thankfully we haven't had much snow. so far the ice and snow have been minimal
I have been learning to improve my pattern writing skills and will share those quilt patterns with you soon. I am a member of the Life's a Quilt group on Facebook and I started a BOM last Sept.
I will be making those available here soon also.
So keep warm and keep quilting!! Wishing you Sunshine and Laughter to keep you warm and cozy!! Rhonda

I will be posting a new tute on my website soon. It is a new tute to the site but not a new idea. I've made Dresden Kaleidoscopes for over 30 years and they are still as exciting as when I first learned to make them.
A Dresden Kaleidoscope is a Dresden pattern but the blades are fussy cut to give the Kaleidoscope look. I love them! They are alot of fun to make.
Here are a few of my favorites I've made

And here you can see some of the fabrics that work the best for making these. You need a design or print that has a lot of interest and doesn't have alot of bare spaces. You also need to have at least 3 repeats in a quarter yard. One yard will give you about 6 Dresden Kaleidoscopes. If you pick a fabric that doesn't have at least 3 repeats per quarter yard then you just need to buy more of your fabric so you have enough repeats.
