I will be posting a new tute on my website soon. It is a new tute to the site but not a new idea. I've made Dresden Kaleidoscopes for over 30 years and they are still as exciting as when I first learned to make them.

A Dresden Kaleidoscope is a Dresden pattern but the blades are fussy cut to give the Kaleidoscope look. I love them! They are alot of fun to make.

Here are a few of my favorites I've made

And here you can see some of the fabrics that work the best for making these. You need a design or print that has a lot of interest and doesn't have alot of bare spaces. You also need to have at least 3 repeats in a quarter yard. One yard will give you about 6 Dresden Kaleidoscopes. If you pick a fabric that doesn't have at least 3 repeats per quarter yard then you just need to buy more of your fabric so you have enough repeats.
