Thought I would share the process of working on a quilt block for my Quilt Block Swap on the Quilting Board. I chose my quilt block named Alisha after my great granddaughter.
I am working on putting this quilt block together. I like to make all the "blocks" then put together 4 Blocks into 4 patches.
I'm using gold and burnt orange instead of green and med brown because my swap partner wanted fall colors
To make the 4 patch "Blocks" I cut strips and then sewed the strips together. I am using 2 1/2" square blocks so I cut the strip sets into 1 3/4" sections. Then sew the sections together. You can see in the matched sections on the right I tacked a stitch where the seams meet so they won't move when I sew the seam to join the two sections together. After the sections are sewn together then I will cut out a square from the center with a template. This is my cut down method.
Here are two of the corner sections sewn together.
But since I am still in progress with this quilt block you will have to wait to see the finished product! LOL
I will post a picture when I get it done. Hopefully it will be coming soon!!!
